Note, however, the components of this process are independent of each other and can therefore exchanged on user requirements. There are only depend on the same description language (IRIS-MPL). That means, a process manager is able to enhance the management process based on personal needs. For instance, replace a discovery unit which is highly performaned, but less specific by a unit which has a better precision and recall, but lesser performance.
Note: the profile language is domain independent as well as suitable for describing web services directly.

mediator profile language (MPL)

The capabilities of a mediator component, i.e. the mediator profile, are specified by the IRIS Mediator Profile Language (IRIS-MPL). IRIS-MPL is based on the Ontology Web Language (OWL). That means, we use OWL to define the schema of this language. The IRIS-MPL specification of the mediator profile can be found in the download section.
