Note, however, the components
of this process are independent of each other and can therefore
exchanged on user requirements. There are only depend on the same description
language (IRIS-MPL). That means, a process manager is
able to enhance the management process based on personal needs. For instance,
replace a discovery unit which is highly performaned, but less specific by
a unit which has a better precision and recall, but lesser performance.
Note: the profile language is domain independent as well as suitable for
describing web services directly.
mediator profile language (MPL)
The capabilities of a mediator component, i.e. the mediator profile,
are specified by the IRIS Mediator Profile Language (IRIS-MPL). IRIS-MPL
is based on the Ontology Web Language (OWL). That means, we use OWL to
define the schema of this language.
The IRIS-MPL specification of the mediator profile can be found in the
download section.
Following figures illustrate the concepts of the upper ontology
of IRIS-MPL as a directed graph.
