A Chimera is a monster of Greek mythology with a lion's head, a goat's body, and a serpent's tail. For IDEA, each of them represent one of the components the Chimera model and language tries to integrate: object orientation, deduction, and trigger mechanisms.
|This chimera became the mascot of the overall IDEA project. It appears at the IDEA Presentation Page and covers the IDEA project reports.|
The chimera below is a masterpiece of Etruscan bronze art: Casted around 400 BC, it was devoted to Tinia, the Etruscian Zeus. The IDEA team at Bonn prefers this chimera as its mascot, so it also serves as a startup screen for our Chimera Prototyping Tool.
