I am a Senior Research Scientist at the Department of Computer Science III of the University of Bonn.

My primary research interests lay in the area of distributed heterogeneous data intensive information systems. Current research is focused primarily on the design and composition of workflows on distributed services and their efficient execution, distributed data management issues in data-intensive scientific workflows.

My previous research was focused on the following topics:

• interoperability and semantic integration of systems in heterogeneous network environments
• scalable data-intensive architectures, data-grids
• adaptable hight-performance distributed information systems and databases
• transparent persistency in distributed information systems
• Web-based information systems, GeoPortals
• database systems for complex semistructured data, 3D and temporal data, Geodatabases
