As Administrative Network Coordinator, his responsibilities include virtually every aspect from design through operation of the IAI networks, SGA managed networks and network services as well as supervising network security. He is also in charge of basic communication servers. For example, he serves as the postmaster of the Computer Science Department's and Bonn-Aachen International Center for Information Technology primary email services.

Since spring 1991, he works in teams founded and headed by Prof. Dr. Armin B. Cremers. Initially, he contributed to courses and scientific projects as a student assistant before he joined the reformed computing group in 1992.
